About the Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to join the opening team of one of Melbourne's most exciting new hospitality venues.
As a Door Host, you'll be the first and last impression of the venue. Working closely with the Venue Manager, Duty Managers and Front of House team, you'll set the tone for every guest experience — welcoming people in, managing the flow of the venue and creating a sense of excitement from the moment guests arrive.
This role is perfect for someone confident, warm and professional, who thrives on engaging with people and creating a safe, welcoming and energetic atmosphere.
What You'll Do
* Providing a warm, confident and professional welcome to all guests
* Managing guest entry, queue flow and capacity in line with venue standards
* Checking IDs and ensuring compliance with RSA and licensing requirements
* Managing reservations, waitlists and guest expectations at the door
* Communicating clearly with floor, bar and management teams during busy periods
* Handling guest enquiries, issues and special requests with discretion and care
* Supporting events, peak trade and activations with a calm and positive presence
* Maintaining a polished, organised and professional entrance at all times
* Contributing to a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment for guests and team
About You
You're personable, confident and love being the face of a great venue. You know how to read a room, manage people with empathy and professionalism, and stay composed in high-energy environments. You'll also have:
* Previous experience in hospitality, hosting or door roles (preferred but not essential)
* Strong communication skills and a natural ability to engage with people
* A calm, assertive and respectful approach to guest management
* High attention to detail and presentation
* Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification
* A team-first mindset and willingness to support service operations
* Availability to work nights, weekends and event evenings
