Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania's largest hospital, and the main tertiary referral centre for many subspecialised clinical care, surgery and procedures across Tasmania. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. The Role:
* The leadership and implementation of the local and integrated quality, improvement and patient safety program, consistent with the organisational needs of Hospitals South and in keeping with contemporary practice.
* High level leadership and management of the change and improvement agenda, supporting the local management team to achieve measurable improvements in the performance of processes they are accountable for.
* Supporting the Organisation in achieving accreditation under the national safety and quality standards.
* Promote a positive workplace culture that values respect, inclusion, and teamwork
* Work with the departments and craft groups, to contribute to service development and innovation across the organisation
* Attend relevant training, supervision, and professional development activities
* Support continuous quality improvement and safety programs across the hospital
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective health systems and models of care
* Support the health system to provide high-quality, patient-centred care in alignment with RHH's clinical standards
* Support and contribute to clinical teaching and research initiatives, where applicable, with the University of Tasmania
You will need:
* Extensive experience in quality improvement, patient safety and risk management in a health care setting with the ability to design, implement and evaluate holistic improvements.
* Comprehensive and current knowledge of, and high-level experience in, the health industry generally with significant experience working with a multidisciplinary health care team.
* Comprehensive and current knowledge of the relevant industry quality and safety standards and high-level experience in the application of these standards.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary: $139,470 to $148,863 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Eligibility:
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
* Clinical registration and/or health service management experience
* Extensive experience managing and leading a complex team
* Extensive experience and / or certification in Quality Improvement and/ or Accreditation
* Professional qualifications and experience relevant to industry quality and safety standards
* Current Driver's Licence
