About the role
As a Senior Pharmacist, you will be responsible for the organisation, management and operation of a designated pharmacy area, delivering a comprehensive range of high-level pharmacy services within the hospital setting. This role provides the opportunity to exercise independent and autonomous professional judgement, offering expert medicines information and therapeutic advice to patients, as well as medical, nursing and allied health colleagues, in accordance with hospital policies, procedures and professional standards.
In this senior role, you will play a critical part in optimising patient outcomes through the safe, effective and cost-efficient use of medicines. You will lead and support strategies that promote quality use of pharmaceuticals, contribute to continuous service improvement, and ensure pharmacy services are delivered to a consistently high standard aligned with organisational and divisional priorities.
About You
You are an experienced and motivated pharmacist who brings strong clinical expertise, leadership capability and a commitment to delivering high-quality pharmacy services within a complex healthcare environment.
* Qualifications and registration: Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) with current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
* Clinical expertise and professional knowledge: Extensive experience in pharmacy practice, with comprehensive knowledge of relevant codes of practice and professional standards, and the ability to deliver safe, effective and high-quality pharmacy services.
* Leadership, research and problem-solving: Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to undertake research and analyse data, and a proven capacity to lead and implement strategies that improve service delivery.
* Communication, organisation and teamwork: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organisational ability and attention to detail, capacity to work independently under broad direction, and a demonstrated ability to supervise, educate and work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
