Maintenance Officer – Full Time (No Weekends). Based in Orange. $31.51/hr + super + salary packaging.
About the Role
Join Uniting as a Maintenance Officer and play a vital role in ensuring our aged care communities remain safe, welcoming, and homelike environments. This full-time, Monday to Friday role (38 hours per week) offers stability, a competitive hourly rate, and the prospect to make a meaningful impact in our communities.
You will be responsible for the maintenance of buildings, property, plant, and equipment to ensure a safe, compliant, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
- Undertake both planned and reactive maintenance in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with WHS standards and organisational requirements.
- Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families with empathy and respect.
- Support the delivery of safe and high-quality aged care services through proactive property and asset management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance or handyperson role.
- Sound knowledge of WHS and building-related legislation.
- Trade background preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good computer literacy and organisational skills.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence.
Even Better
- Demonstrated experience in a maintenance role, preferably in an aged care / Retirement living setting
- Detailed knowledge of the application use of CMMS (Computerised maintenance management system); training can be provided
