As Commercial Manager, you will lead the end‐to‐end commercial management of panel contracts, driving value for money, performance excellence and strong contractor relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
* Manage commercial and contractual aspects of panel contracts across the full lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contractual, legislative and governance requirements.
* Drive value for money through robust performance monitoring, efficiency initiatives and continuous improvement.
* Establish, monitor and report on contractor performance, including cost, quality, productivity and delivery against agreed KPIs.
* Provide commercial oversight and quality assurance to ensure contract outputs meet required standards and specifications.
* Identify, assess and manage commercial and contractual risks, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
* Interpret contract conditions and provide advice on variations, claims, disputes and commercial matters.
* Build strong, collaborative relationships with panel contractors and internal stakeholders to support planning, delivery and issue resolution.
Qualifications
* Strong commercial acumen and experience managing complex contracts in an infrastructure or asset‐intensive environment.
* Demonstrated experience in commercial or contract management, ideally within infrastructure, construction or public sector environments.
* Strong knowledge of contract administration, risk management and performance assurance frameworks.
* Proven ability to drive value for money and continuous improvement through data‐driven performance management.
* Experience interpreting complex contracts and advising on variations, claims and dispute resolution.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong analytical, reporting and governance capabilities, including experience reporting to senior leadership or steering committees.
* Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, law, engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
