Beon Energy Solutions is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Health, Safety and Sustainability to join its senior leadership team. This pivotal role will lead the development and execution of health, safety and sustainability (HSS) programs across large-scale renewable energy, utilities and infrastructure projects and maintenance contracts in Australia and New Zealand.

This leader will drive a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and embed sustainability and community engagement initiatives into all areas of the business. They will also foster strong relationships with local communities, First Peoples, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders, while driving the team to deliver operational excellence.

Key responsibilities
">
">
* Lead and evolve Beon's HSS strategy and culture across complex, high-risk projects.
">
* Drive a proactive safety culture through expert advice and guidance, coaching and mentoring of operational leadership on emerging risks, regulatory changes and best practice.
">
* Ensure regulatory compliance and best practice in HSE performance and risk management.
">
* Provide leadership and assist project teams in developing and maintaining positive relationships with community, local First People and organisations, Government, Industry and clients.
">
* Drive continuous improvement and reporting of HSS metrics.
">
* Oversee environmental and cultural heritage obligations and stakeholder engagement.
">
* Lead Beon's sustainability agenda and Reconciliation Action Plan.
">
* Contribute to a culture that is focused on workplace continuous improvement through identifying and supporting improvement initiatives and opportunities.

Requirements
">
To succeed in this role, you will have:
">
">
* Tertiary qualifications in OHS, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fields.
">
* Extensive experience in high-risk industries such as construction, energy, or infrastructure.
">
* Proven leadership of HSE systems, compliance programs, and safety culture initiatives.
">
* Strong understanding of environmental management, stakeholder engagement, and First Peoples inclusion.
">
* In-depth understanding of human resource management, process management, process improvement and project management principles.
">
* Experience in consulting and resolving work practices and safety issues involving employees and management at all levels within a large organisation.
">
* Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a high performing team.
">
* Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives and influence at an executive level.
