The base is one of the busiest in New South Wales, employing over 4500 people. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical services. Standard operating hours are generally 0730-1530 Mon-Fri (depending on role requirements).Your ImpactWe are seeking a Medical Officer / General Practitioner to join us in a Fixed Term part time capacity, working Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.As a Medical Officer – AVMO, you’ll make a positive impact by:You will be responsible for the delivery of medical services including aviation-based services such as fitness to fly assessments, aviation medicals and aircrew clinical health management to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.You will be required to provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO), Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager and Commanders of units.You may be required to provide the services in either an outpatient setting or as inpatient care within a hospital or medical centreWhat You’ll NeedUnrestricted AHPRA registration as a Medical PractitionerFRACGP, FACRRM, or Vocational RegistrationMinimum 2 years’ full time (or part time equivalent) GP experience in the last 5 yearsAustralian Citizen – for Baseline Security Clearance requirementsBasic military aviation medicine course or equivalent - Opportunity to be sponsored to complete this if you do not currently hold any of the below:Australian Defence Force Aviation Medical Officer Course;United States Air Force Primary Aerospace Medicine Course, US Navy or US Army basic courses; orequivalent military AVMED course as determined by Commanding Officer AVMEDcivilian AVMED course, with appropriate military experience as determined by Commanding Officer AVMEDWhy Join Us?Serco is a trusted partner of the Australian Defence Force, providing integrated healthcare across 40+ bases.
