Job Overview
The Director of Finance is a strategic business leader responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies that meet or exceed the needs of key stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning and Analysis
* Develops means to improve profitability, including estimating costs and benefits, exploring new business opportunities, etc.
* Analyzes information, forecasts sales against expenses, and creates annual budget plans.
* Compiles information, analyzes, and monitors actual sales against projected sales.
* Identifies underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into parts.
* Thinks creatively and practically to develop, execute, and implement new business plans.
2. Leading Financial Teams
* Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others.
* Advocates sound financial/business decision making.
* Leverages leadership and communication skills to influence the executive team and property strategies.
3. Anticipating and Delivering on Stakeholder Needs
* Attends meetings and communicates with owners, understands priorities, and strategic focus.
* Understands and meets needs of key stakeholders.
4. Developing and Maintaining Financial Goals
* Ensures profits and losses are documented accurately.
* Monitors taxes and submits reports on deadlines.
5. Project Management and Policy Development
* Generates and provides accurate and timely results in reports and presentations.
* Reconciles balance sheet with appropriate documentation.
6. Qualifications
* 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or related major; 3 years experience in finance and accounting or related professional area.
* Master's degree in Finance and Accounting or related major; 1 year experience in finance and accounting or related professional area.
