About the role
Fulham Correctional Centre is part of The GEO Group Australia, based near Sale, regional Victoria and delivers comprehensive, professional, nursing services in a correctional setting.
Working Monday – Friday from 8am to 4pm, the goal of the Health Promotion Nurse at Fulham Correctional Centre is to facilitate disease prevention, health enhancement and empowerment.
The Health Promotion Nurse acts to promote optimum health by providing the right to informed choice, advocacy and self-determination through education both individually and collectively.
Our work is fast paced, and your role could include emergency care, coordinating and delivering nurse-led clinics, liaising with interdisciplinary teams, coordinating care, conducting health care assessments, and dispersing prescription and non-prescription medications.
To be successful in the role you will have
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse Division One.
- A minimum of 3 years’ full-time or pro-rata part-time post registration experience and demonstrated clinical expertise in the relevant area.
- Holding or working towards qualifications within Health Promotion scope of practice would be desirable.
Experience
- Knowledge of and experience in operational levels of health service provision.
- Ability to undertake project work.
- Ability to solve problems.
- Ability to motivate others.
- Information Technology knowledge and skills relevant to role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently prepare clinical formulations and reports.

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary of $107,840.99, against the current Fulham Correctional Centre Nurses Enterprise Agreement. Salaries are exclusive of any applicable shift loading, penalty rates, superannuation and other allowances.
