About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family and Criminal Lawyer with at least 3 years Post Admission Experience (PAE) to join our growing team in Ballina. This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer who is confident managing a diverse caseload, enjoys client contact, and is looking for a long-term career in a supportive Firm.
Key Responsibilities
Family Law:
* Manage a wide range of family law matters including parenting disputes, property settlements, divorce, and binding financial agreements.
* Attend and advocate in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
* Draft clear, client-focused legal advice and court documents.
* Engage in mediation and negotiations on behalf of clients.
Criminal Law:
* Handle summary and indictable criminal matters from police charges through to final hearing.
* Represent clients in Local, District, and higher courts as appropriate.
* Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies.
* Liaise with police, prosecutors, and court staff.
Key Requirements
* A minimum of 3 years' post-admission experience in both family and criminal law.
* Current NSW Practicing Certificate.
* Strong advocacy and courtroom experience.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage competing deadlines and work autonomously.
* A client-focused, empathetic, and pragmatic approach to legal practice.
* Strong attention to detail and high standards of professional ethics.
* Commitment to delivering high-quality legal advice and client service.
