Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled analytical scientist to join our team at a leading food testing laboratory based in Melbourne's inner suburbs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Extract and analyze food analytes and nutritional compounds from various food matrices.
* Operate and maintain state-of-the-art laboratory instruments, including GC-FID, HPLC, and LC-MS/MS.
* Prepare sample sequences, acquire data, and conduct limited processing using specialized software.
* Process instrument data, verify QA/QC results, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
* Report results accurately within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) in line with National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) requirements.
* Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment according to NATA and quality procedures.
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Chemistry or a related field.
* At least 2 years of experience working in a similar role analyzing food-related matrices using instrumentation like HPLC, GC-MS, and LCMS.
