About the opportunity

Are you looking for a position that is rewarding and varied? Are you interested in Aged Care but tired of shift work? Mercy Health's Transitional Aged Care Program is a community-based 12 week program providing slow-stream rehabilitation and practical support to care-recipients in their own homes. The AIN is responsible for providing practical support (eg. personal care, domestic assistance and transport) as well as social support and health monitoring under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. You will join an experienced and passionate team of Nursing and Allied Health professionals, all committed to helping care recipients reach their individual goals, and be safe and confident living in their own homes. This is an opportunity for novice AINs and nursing students to gain valuable experience in a supportive, multidisciplinary team environment.

* Permanent part-time and casual positions available
* Day shifts only, some weekend work (shift penalties apply)
* Nursing students of all levels encouraged to apply
* Full training and orientation provided
* Professional Development opportunities

To thrive in this role, you will have:

* Certificate 3 in Individual Support or equivalent (or working towards same), OR
* Nursing student suitably experienced in Aged Care, Home Care or acute/subacute care (eg, clinical placements)
* Organised, reliable and accountable for your work within scope of practice
* Ability to perform confidently without direct supervision
