For us, it's about finding new and better ways of doing things—ways to grow our business, give back to the environment, and enrich people's lives every day.Job DescriptionAbout this opportunityWe specialise in manufacturing and supplying rigid plastic and metal packaging for the consumer and industrial sectors.Reporting to the Plant Manager–Household and Industrial Packaging, the Technical & Projects Manager is a key leadership role responsible for developing, planning, and executing Capex projects, improvement initiatives, tooling, new product introductions, process optimisation, and equipment upgrades including automation and robotics.The main focus is to support safety, quality, engineering, process optimisation, equipment upgrades, automation, layout optimisation, tooling NPD, and continuous improvement.Key responsibilities include:Manage Capex projects from design to execution, including quotations, approvals, scheduling, and contractor management.Coordinate new product development (NPD) processes, including tooling, ensuring timely and budgeted project delivery.Oversee contractor support, manage costs, conduct risk assessments, and ensure safety compliance.Lead safety initiatives, hazard identification, and WHSE campaigns to promote a safety culture.Enhance safety systems and promote their use on all equipment and lines.Develop reporting teams, conduct Toolbox Talks on safety and quality.Identify and implement cost reduction strategies, such as waste reduction and setup time minimisation.Your skills and experienceTo succeed, you should have:Proven experience in project engineering within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Understanding of OEE, root cause analysis, and TPM operations.Ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.Resource management skills.Familiarity with SAP, CAD (SolidWorks or AutoCAD), robotics, automation, and lean manufacturing principles.Additional detailsSeniority level: AssociateEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: General BusinessIndustry: Packaging and Containers Manufacturing
