Overview
NT Health 2026 Nursing and Midwifery Graduate Program - Graduate Registered Nurse/ Midwife (Nurse level 2) - Darwin/Palmerston, Katherine, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Nhulunbuy (Full-time/Part-time) - Fixed for 12 months.
The graduate registered nurse/ registered midwife program offers early career nurses the opportunity to develop professionally in various clinical areas and consolidate their knowledge and develop their skills in a supportive workplace environment.

Key duties and responsibilities
* Accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
* Works within the registered nurse/midwife scope of practice and according to evidence-based practice and legislation.
* Works respectfully and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.
* Participates in quality improvement opportunities.
* Foster a positive workplace culture through role modelling appropriate behaviour.
* Follows defined service quality standards, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
* Capacity to work shift work and be redeployed to other clinical areas to meet clinical needs.
Selection criteria
Essential
* Current registration as a registered nurse or registered midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to, co-ordinate client care resulting in positive clinical outcomes.
* Demonstrated written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to contribute effectively within the multidisciplinary team.
* Demonstrated understanding of the impact of social and cultural challenges experienced by vulnerable groups/communities and the role of the nurse/midwife in supporting them.
* Knowledge and understanding of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) principles in a health care setting.
