Job Overview
This role involves working with adults who have experienced family violence in the North region. The Family Violence Counselling and Support Service (FVCSS) provides specialist support to assist individuals, families and young people affected by family violence.
The service operates within the Safe at Home system, prioritising the safety and well-being of victims of family violence.
Main Responsibilities
* Support adults to recover from their experience of family violence through information provision, assessment, counselling, referrals, group work and other therapeutic interventions.
* Contribute to program development, implementation and evaluation, as well as participate in group sessions.
* Provide information, referrals and advice to clients and other service providers.
* Assess and monitor ongoing risk and safety needs of adults affected by family violence.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of family violence and its impact on adults.
* Able to work effectively with complex cases, applying appropriate models of intervention.
* Exercises professional judgement and initiative, works under general supervision and seeks guidance as needed.
* Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise workload while maintaining high standards of client care.
* Solid communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaison with clients, carers and stakeholders.
* Ability to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team and be adaptable in a dynamic environment.
