The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Senior Video Editor and Content Lead to drive the visual storytelling of the NBL through expert-level video editing and creative production. You'll combine creative leadership with hands-on execution, spearheading the filming, editing, and packaging of compelling basketball-focused content that reaches millions of fans across broadcast and digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead post-production efforts across interviews, game highlights, player features, promotional campaigns and social-first content formats
* Edit broadcast-grade and social media content using Adobe Premiere Pro with basic After Effects enhancement capabilities
* Direct and shoot sit-down interviews, behind-the-scenes moments and basketball-specific content in live and controlled environments
* Generate and develop storylines focusing on player narratives, team rivalries and season-defining moments
* Shape NBL's editorial voice and creative storytelling approach across multiple output formats including widescreen, vertical, square and LED displays
* Provide guidance to a team of editors while collaborating with JAM TV and external production partners
* Support Commercial and Marketing teams with hype reels, television commercials and promotional materials
* Contribute to long-term content planning, seasonal campaigns and key events including NBL Blitz, Finals and Awards
About You
Technical Expertise
* Advanced video editing expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro
* Solid working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for text treatments and graphical enhancements
* Strong camera operation and on-set production skills for scripted and documentary-style shoots
* Deep understanding of pacing, audio mixing and visual storytelling principles
Industry Experience
* Minimum 4-6 years working in professional sport, entertainment or broadcast environments
* Proven track record editing emotionally engaging content for sporting audiences
* Basketball knowledge and passion, including familiarity with league structures and fan engagement strategies
* Strong awareness of sports content trends across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube platforms
Key Skills
* Creative leadership abilities with experience managing small teams
* Proficiency in both fast-turnaround and long-form content production
* Strong collaborative skills working with motion designers, social producers and digital teams
* Detail-oriented with excellent project management and creative ideation capabilities
