Touch of Talent is recruiting a Digital Performance Director for a well-regarded performance marketing agency in Richmond. This is the role that takes you from senior practitioner to genuine performance leader, owning $1M+ in monthly biddable media spend, shaping digital advertising strategy for 4 to 5 high-value clients, and leading a team that delivers measurable commercial outcomes across retail, eCommerce, and B2B.
If you have outgrown pure channel management and want a seat at the table where omnichannel strategy meets commercial decision-making, this role is for you. What You\'ll Be Doing
* Own the strategic direction and day-to-day relationships for 4 to 5 clients across retail, eCommerce, and B2B verticals, presenting recommendations confidently to C-suite and senior decision-makers
* Identify and act on growth opportunities across client portfolios, from seasonal campaign pushes to new channel expansion
* Directly manage and mentor two paid media specialists, supporting their development across search, social, and programmatic
* Lead quarterly business reviews and client workshops, keeping internal teams, analysts, and creative aligned on client goals
* Build integrated omnichannel media strategies aligned to each client\'s sales cycles, growth objectives, and market positioning
* Lead media planning and budget allocation across paid search, paid social, and programmatic, with a focus on incrementality and return on spend
* Manage $1M+ in monthly digital advertising budgets, identifying diminishing returns, saturation points, and opportunities to scale
* Advise clients on how biddable media investment should shift across channels based on return curves and commercial priorities
Technical Implementation & Optimisation (15%)
* Maintain hands-on oversight of SEM campaign architecture, feed strategy, and measurement frameworks across all active accounts
* Optimise campaigns for lead quality, eCommerce conversions, and B2B pipeline outcomes across paid search, social, and programmatic
* Build and manage reporting dashboards that connect spend to commercial results, tracking ROAS, cost per acquisition, and lead-to-sale conversion
* Contribute to robust reporting frameworks that ensure media spend is clearly tied to commercial outcomes for each client
What You Bring
* 6-8 years in performance marketing within an agency environment, with deep expertise across SEM, paid social, and programmatic media, and a proven track record managing omnichannel campaigns at $500K+ monthly budgets across retail, eCommerce, or B2B.
* Strong strategic planning capability, with experience building multi-channel digital advertising strategies aligned to business objectives, sales cycles, and market positioning.
* Confident client leadership skills, including presenting to and influencing C-suite and senior decision-makers, with the ability to translate media performance into commercial language.
* Experience managing and developing a team of paid media or biddable media specialists, with a hands-on approach to mentoring and capability building.
* You think in business outcomes, not platform metrics. You are as comfortable talking margin and pipeline as you are talking ROAS and CPA.
Bonus Points if You Have
* Google Ads Certifications
* Google Analytics 4 Certification
* Microsoft Advertising Certification
What You Get in Return
Impact and Autonomy
* A senior leadership position with genuine influence over digital advertising strategy, client direction, and team development. You will have full ownership of a $1M+ monthly biddable media portfolio with the autonomy to shape how budgets are allocated, tested, and scaled.
* Direct exposure to senior agency leadership with clear pathways to grow your team, expand your remit, and make your mark on the agency\'s commercial direction.
Compensation and Growth
* $120,000 to $140,000 package including super, commensurate with experience and the commercial scope of this role.
* $2,000 annual training budget with access to platform certifications, keeping you ahead of an evolving performance media landscape.
Wellbeing and Flexibility
* 2 days WFH per week, with 3 days in an inner Melbourne office walking distance from train and tram. A $400 annual wellness budget to spend however works best for you.
* One dedicated Mental Health Day per quarter, on top of your standard sick leave entitlement, because sustainable performance starts with looking after your people.
Work Environment and Culture
* A large, warehouse-style modern office that is genuinely worth showing up to, a dog-friendly floor, and regular team lunches and social events that build real relationships rather than just filling a calendar.
* A tight-knit, collaborative culture where people stay because they actually enjoy the team around them. No politics, no revolving door.
