Associate - Employment & Workplace Relations Lawyer
This is a great opportunity for an Employment Lawyer or Associate to join one of Melbourne's most highly regarded employment law practices — offering technically complex work in a smaller, close-knit team environment.
This team advises major Australian and multinational employers across industries including construction, mining, finance, health, education, and government. They're also regularly engaged by labour law regulators and state governments around Australia, which gives them a unique perspective on both commercial and regulatory issues in employment and industrial law.
You'll work closely with two dynamic and technically excellent Partners who are known for their down-to-earth approach and strong investment in junior development. One brings deep expertise in employment law aspects of M&A, strategic industrial relations, and large-scale regulator investigations. The other is widely respected for her work in public sector enterprise bargaining, sensitive workplace disputes, and leadership roles in high-profile Royal Commissions.
Despite the scale and prestige of the work, the team itself is relatively small for the top-end of the market — meaning you'll have direct access to Partners, frequent client contact, and opportunities to build your confidence in negotiations and disputes. It's a genuinely collaborative and approachable team, well suited to someone who wants to be stretched by high-quality matters while enjoying a strong sense of support and belonging.
This role is ideal for an Employment Lawyer or Associate with strong academics and around 2–4 years' post-admission experience from a highly regarded firm, who enjoys working on challenging and meaningful matters in a team that's collegiate, well-balanced, and serious about developing its Lawyers.
