Job Title: Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Community Worker (Identified)
Job Description
This role contributes to creating pathways to better health for North West communities by supporting individuals, families and services in delivering culturally safe, person-centred care with ATODS.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide cultural assessments and support to improve engagement with Mental Health & ATODS services.
* Work with individuals, families, and groups on initiatives to reduce harm and improve wellbeing.
* Facilitate programs in areas such as life skills and self-help for those impacted by AOD and mental health challenges.
* Connect clients with specialist mental health, AOD, and allied health services.
* Support and educate primary health providers in early intervention and culturally safe care.
* Assist with prevention and health promotion through culturally appropriate education and community activities.
* Actively contribute to quality improvement, workplace safety, and inclusive workforce practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Requirements:
* Must be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
* Pre-employment screening will be conducted including Criminal History checks.
* A current 'C' Class driver's licence is essential.
