Searching for a rich background in networking and a deep understanding of fortifying IT infrastructure, specifically tailored to the retail industry. Your pivotal role will be to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our network infrastructure to effectively support our retail operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the central point of contact for business partners and stakeholders, comprehending their needs and identifying opportunities for enhancing IT services.
- Aid in fulfilling strategic IT objectives necessary to bolster business outcomes.
- Oversee the operational facet of IT, delivering timely reports to technology leaders and the Executive Team.
- Establish governance and management practices to effectively mitigate IT risks across the technology landscape.
- Formulate and execute strategies for IT infrastructure, systems, and cybersecurity that align with industry best practices and organisational goals.
- Manage and secure various IT assets, including but not limited to Mac OS, Windows, LINUX, etc., encompassing vulnerability scanning, ongoing maintenance, patch management, and asset decommissioning.
- Implement and uphold network security policies, practices, and other security measures to protect sensitive retail and office data.
- Provide robust cybersecurity measures to thwart potential threats and safeguard the organisation's assets.
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, offering guidance, support, and training to ensure the team excels in network infrastructure management and maintenance.
- Establish monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect and address network issues, minimising downtime and disturbances in the retail and office environment.
- Develop and maintain a robust network architecture aligned with industry best practices and business requirements, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Pioneering proactive monitoring and reporting for endpoint and system health, including patching, compliance, and other performance metrics.
- Manage vulnerability remediation and incident handling across global resources.
- Implement new security technologies to support a dynamic and challenging business environment.
Key Details:
- Identify opportunities for operationalising security orchestration and automation capabilities.
- Support information security tools (MDM, EDR, and SIEM) and enforce global security controls.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to efficiently procure and manage networking equipment, software, and services.
- Partner with managed service providers to scale IT operations as required.
- Ensure that the network infrastructure complies with relevant standards and regulations, such as PCI DSS or GDPR, as applicable to the retail industry.
- Provide support during periodic audits and help maintain compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct capacity planning to anticipate future network requirements and adjust resources to accommodate retail business growth.
- Maintain highly available, secure, and robust assets supporting retail and office operations.
- Ensure deliverables are achieved within the allocated IT budget.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for network-related issues, swiftly identifying and resolving problems to minimise disruptions to retail operations.
- Be available for triage and support for business-critical IT infrastructure issues.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures to facilitate efficient management and knowledge transfer within the IT team.
Qualifications:
- Possess 5+ years of IT experience with a strong security focus.
- Exhibit exceptional leadership skills to guide the IT Operations team and support the organisation.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Demonstrate substantial experience in network management, including at least two years in a leadership role.
- Possess deep expertise in Microsoft solutions and services (e.g., Intune, Entra ID, Defender, Delve, etc.).
- Maintain relevant qualifications in network administration and management, with proficiency in Sophos or other security domains.
- Familiarity with IT requirements and best practices in the retail industry.
- Exhibit professional written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to confidently and clearly convey complex issues and concepts to all organisational levels.
- Possess experience in virtualised environments (VMWare) and cloud-based offerings (IaaS, SaaS, etc.).
