Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance, repair, and servicing of aircraft to ensure airworthiness and compliance with aviation safety regulations.
You will gain hands-on experience working on various aircraft systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and structural components. This role provides a structured learning environment combining on-the-job training with formal technical education.
* Assist in routine inspections, scheduled maintenance, and unscheduled repairs of aircraft and components.
* Learn to interpret technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and engineering drawings.
* Support documentation and record-keeping for maintenance activities in accordance with regulatory standards.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly used and stored.
* Shadow licenced engineers to observe troubleshooting techniques and defect rectification.
* Attend and participate in classroom training and technical workshops as required.
To be successful in this role, you should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and good hand-eye coordination. Previous experience with mechanical or technical work is an asset.
This apprenticeship requires meeting medical and security clearance requirements for working in an airport or hangar environment. You should have a strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn. Enrolment in CERT II in Aero Skills before applying is recommended.
