The Opportunity
We're seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to support the Finance Team on a part-time basis. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role provides technical and administrative assistance with day-to-day accounting operations and a wide range of finance projects.
The position also supports both accounts management and payroll processing requirements on an intermittent basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Calculation of payroll adjustments, wage adjustments and leave accruals
* Assisting with the preparation and posting of monthly general ledger adjustment entries
* Preparation of sales and expense variance reports
* Preparation of actual versus rostered wage reports
* Calculations for compliance returns (Payroll tax, Workcover, BAS's, Dairy Levies)
* Review and streamlining of internal processes within a team environment
* Research and interpretation of relevant accounting and employment legislation
* Maintenance of CAPEX and asset related records and schedules
* Preparation of transactions for related entities
* Intermittent coverage of accounts payables and receivables
* Coordination of payroll processing periodically
About You
* Completion of Certificate IV in Accounting or partial completion of Bachelor of Accounting (or similar) or relevant experience
* Sound knowledge of the fundamentals of accounting
* Intermediate to advanced level Excel skills
* High attention to detail
* Well-developed problem-solving skills
* Desire to learn and develop
* Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
* Sensitivity to confidentiality requirements
* Sound communication skills and ability to work in a team environment or independently
