Part time permanent opportunity – 24 hours per week, based in Kew.
About the Role
Cook / Food Service Assistant (IN16 & IN13–IN14) working the PM shift under the Support Services Coordinator. Responsibilities include plating, cleaning, providing meal services to all residents, preparing simple meals, modifying patient meals and fluids, reheating all patient meals, serving in conjunction with the Food Services Assistant on duty. Additional FSA duties include sandwich and salad preparation, dishwashing, meal trolley delivery, short‐order meals, ensuring core temperature above 75 °C, monitoring waste management, maintaining work area in accordance with Food Safety standards, informing coordinators of required food stock levels.
Responsibilities
* Plate, clean, and provide meal services to all residents.
* Prepare and produce simple meals, modify patient meals and fluids as per menu.
* Reheat all patient meals and serve with Food Services Assistant.
* Sandwich and salad preparation, dishwashing, meal trolley delivery.
* Prepare short order meals as required.
* Ensure core temperature has reached above 75 °C.
* Monitor waste management.
* Maintain work area in accordance with Food Safety standards.
* Inform coordinators of required food stock levels.
Qualifications & Experience
* Food Safety Certificate HLTFSE001.
* Food Safety Supervisors Certificate HLTFSE005 & HLTFSE007.
* Previous experience in a commercial kitchen.
* Previous experience in an aged‐care environment (desirable).
* Current NDIS Check, or willing to obtain one.
Classifications & Salary
FSA: IN13 – IN14 ($50,866 – $53,508 annually). Cook: IN16 ($62,540 per annum pro‐rata).

About Berengarra
Berengarra is a new multi‐storey, 90‐bed state‐of‐the‐art residential aged‐care facility comprising 60 mainstream and 30 Aged Persons' Mental Health beds, designed to deliver contemporary best‐practice person‐centred care.
Work Environment
Work is based at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne (SVHM), a leading teaching, research and tertiary health service.
