As a **Product Stewardship Specialist**, you will be based in **Clayton, Victoria**, and report to the Regional EHS Manager.
You will lead and implement PPG product regulatory compliance and materials management programs to assure that products are developed, sold, distributed, transported, used, and disposed of in compliance with product compliance regulations.
**Responsibilities**
- Implement PPG Product Stewardship Management System (PSITs) in the ANZ region.
- Work with the SBU Global PS Managers to establish a plan for PSITs deployment, implementation, and assessment.
- Provide training on PS/PSITs requirements to stakeholders in SBUs organizations (R&D, technical, business) or cross-functional organizations (purchasing, supply chain, logistics, operations) to support the program.
- Support the development and implementation of SBU or cross-function processes that can integrate PS/PSIT requirements into business and operational activities.
- Follow up action and monitor PSITs progress according to the established plan.
- Coordinate with the SBU Global PS Managers, Corp AP PS Manager, and Country management teams to get required support; and update the progress timely.
- Ensure the chemical control compliance programs have been established and monitored at PPG global GPS tools. This includes product hazard communication (GHS SDS, Labels), chemical inventory control (i.e., Australia NICNAS, New Zealand HSNO, and NZIoC), International chemical convention (drug precursor), and PPG RSLs requirement.
- Coordinate with the stakeholders, SBU Global PS Managers, and Corp AP PS regarding new chemical notifications required for Australia and New Zealand.
- Monitor the latest emerging issues, such as GHS developments and other regulations (VOC).
- Participate in the AP PS monthly conference call and other meetings.
- Participate in SBU sales, marketing, and technical groups meeting, to understand SBU business strategy and its implication to PS strategy/plans of ANZ and maintain regular communications with related stakeholders.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the paint or ink sector as a similar PS position or associated function like technical, R&D, or EHS.
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or Chemistry related sciences.
- Good knowledge of PPG products/ chemistry.
- Willingness to travel to the various PPG sites and occasionally overseas.
