Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Pipe Welder to lead our welding team. This role requires the ability to weld piping, structural steel, and other facility equipment/infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Lead and support the welding team daily
* Assist in coaching, mentoring, and training team members
* Report status and issues to leadership and customers
* Support leadership in de-escalation of conflict, following company policies, and setting/enforcing a high bar for quality and throughput
* Complete welding assignments and procedures for construction and repair of all site structural stands on time, safely, and in a professional manner
* Coordinate work with support groups (flight control, other fab/civil organizations, engineering, etc.)
* Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations where procedural information is unavailable
* Obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, or certifications as required
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalency certificate
* At least 3 years of pipe welding experience
* 1+ year of structural welding experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* 5+ years of metal fabrication experience
* 3+ years leading small weld teams
* 1+ years of experience working at a launch, test, or production site
* Knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements
* Knowledge of standard tools, materials, motions, and practices of the welding trade
* Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in relation to welding and brazing

* Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments - heat, cold, rain
* Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise

* Must be available for overtime and weekends depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required
