We are seeking an experienced (plant) Production Manager to oversee the team and operations of our chemical manufacturing facility in Adelaide, SA.
This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
The successful candidate will lead a skilled team, ensuring the efficient and safe production of chemicals while adhering to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage a team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure professional growth and performance optimization.
* Monitor daily manufacturing operations, including batch processing, reaction monitoring, and equipment maintenance, to ensure the consistent production of high-quality products.
* Implement and enforce strict safety protocols, operational procedures, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environment and compliance with industry standards.
* Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that products meet the specified quality standards, conducting regular checks and audits to maintain product integrity.
* Continuously seek opportunities to optimize production processes, reduce waste, increase efficiency, and enhance overall plant performance.
* Lead troubleshooting efforts during equipment breakdowns, process deviations, or other operational issues, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production activities, process changes, safety incidents, and other relevant data to support regulatory compliance and future analysis.
* Foster open and effective communication channels between the production team, management, and other relevant departments to ensure alignment and collaboration
* Identify training needs and opportunities for continuous skill development within the plant technician team, promoting a culture of learning and growth.

Qualifications and Skills
* A relevant qualification with 2 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years of experience in management, leadership and chemical manufacturing.
* Strong knowledge of chemical processes and equipment operations within a manufacturing environment.
* In-depth understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and quality assurance standards applicable to chemical manufacturing.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team of technicians.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a track record of resolving operational issues effectively.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
