Join a Progressive, Hands-On Farming Operation Our client is a family-owned and operated mixed farming enterprise, located in Cowra, NSW, producing high-quality hay, cropping and managing livestock across 1500 acres of prime irrigation country just 10 mins from Cowra. As the business continues to grow, they are looking for a full-time Farm Hand with a strong interest in farming and agriculture and experience in hay making to join their close-knit team. About the Role We are seeking a Farm Hand to join our client’s team. This role will be primarily involved in the hay production program, which includes paddock preparation, sowing, spraying, cutting, raking, baling, and storage. You will also assist with general cropping tasks, fencing and livestock work as needed. This is a varied, year-round role where no two days are the same — ideal for someone who enjoys the seasonal nature of farming, enjoys working in a team, takes initiative, has a love for agriculture and takes pride in their work. Key Responsibilities: Hay Production & Machinery Operation Operating the modern John Deere Tractors, modern hay equipment including mowers, rakes and balers. Transporting and stacking hay using telehandlers and loaders. Monitoring moisture levels and weather to ensure optimal cutting and baling times Assisting with hay sales and loadouts for customers or transport. General Farm Duties Paddock preparation, spraying, and fertiliser application Fencing, irrigation repairs and maintenance (preferred knowledge not essential), and general property upkeep. Supporting cropping and livestock programs during quieter hay periods We’re Looking For Someone With: Previous farm experience, particularly in hay production or machinery operation is desirable. Fencing skills are desirable however not essential. Solid mechanical aptitude – able to identify and troubleshoot issues desirable but not essential. A proactive, can-do attitude and ability to work unsupervised and takes initiative. Possesses a logical mindset with a high level of situational awareness. Strong communication and time management skills Commitment to workplace safety and care of machinery A current driver’s licence (ability to drive manual is essential, truck license is desirable however not essential).
