As a key member of the management team, you will play an integral role in supporting and facilitating positive outcomes across the organisation. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, external stakeholders, and clients to ensure the smooth delivery of high-quality services.
Position Purpose
The Head Veterinary Nurse is a senior, multi-faceted role responsible for ensuring the effective, efficient, and compliant operation of veterinary nursing services across GEOvet\'s three clinics in the South West.
This position provides leadership and operational oversight to the veterinary nursing team, supports staff performance and development, and is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining consistent nursing procedures and standards across all sites.
Key Responsibilities
1. The Head Veterinary Nurse is a primarily clinical role which also oversees the day-to-day veterinary nursing operations of the clinics, including but not limited to:
2. Ensuring consistently high standards of client care and customer service across all clinics
3. Providing leadership, guidance, and professional support to the veterinary nursing team
4. Overseeing nursing operations to ensure processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with best practice
5. Managing rostering and workforce planning to maintain appropriate staffing levels and support consistent service delivery and clinic performance
6. Developing, implementing, and maintaining operational procedures and workflows for the nursing team
7. Overseeing nursing equipment, stock, and consumables in collaboration with the Clinical Manager
8. Collaborating with the wider management team to support GEOvet\'s strategic and operational objectives
9. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a veterinary nursing team to achieve positive outcomes
10. Demonstrated experience and highly developed veterinary nursing skills (minimum 5 years veterinary nursing experience)
11. Current registration with the Veterinary Practice Board WA
12. Proven experience in developing and implementing workplace procedures and processes
13. Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
14. Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder partnerships
15. Proven ability to meet deliverables and deadlines while adapting effectively to changing priorities and environments
16. Demonstrated ability to convene meetings and facilitate consultation processes involving a diverse range of stakeholders
