The Role Within the Directorate of Logistics Systems Sustainment, an APS6 Logistics Policy and Doctrine Officer is responsible for performing complex logistics policy work under limited supervision.
They must maintain a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, government decision-making, and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
Organize workflow and make independent decisions within their responsibility area. Interpret and advise within the Logistics Management function based on legislation, policy, and procedures. Conduct research, analysis, assessments, and support work to achieve results. Coordinate and contribute to team efforts, providing advice on task completion methods. Set work priorities, allocate tasks, and manage workflows and performance. Review and develop the quality of work by others and identify on-the-job training opportunities. Engage with stakeholders to identify, respond to, and advise on issues to meet Defence outcomes. Contribute to ongoing professional development and self-improvement. Note: The position is located at RAAF Base Williams, Laverton, Victoria.

About our Team The APS6 Logistics Policy and Doctrine Officer will lead a small team focused on Inventory Management, Stocktaking, and Warehousing.
Strong collaboration and communication skills are desirable, as the role involves regular engagement with stakeholders, resolving issues, and developing procedural guidance for ERP implementation.
Our Ideal Candidate Experience in inventory management, preferably within Defence or government. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effective team player. Sound decision-making, complex problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Motivated to take on a challenging role that leverages skills to deliver solutions for Defence, especially during ERP implementation.
