We are looking for a skilled Poultry Farm Manager, who will plan, organise, control, coordinate and perform farming operations to breed and raise the chickens, and will ensure animal welfare and sustainability.
An ideal candidate will have a good understanding of poultry farming, feed management, and biosecurity measures.ResponsibilitiesOversee the daily operations of the poultry farm;Plan and coordinate breeding programs, monitor the health and welfare of the birds, and implement feeding and vaccination schedules;Clean, decontaminate and perform maintenance on bird houses and farm equipment;Monitor stock levels and place feed orders, ensuring the correct amounts are secured and supplied to the batches;Maintain farming equipment, including tractors, skid steers, telehandlers, and power tools;Liaise with contractors/suppliers regarding resources (feed, water) and the arrival and departure of batches;Support with completion of audits and other paperwork associated with managing the farm;Train and supervise junior staff;Ensure good animal welfare practices are employed at all times.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Agriculture or a related field is preferredMinimum 2 years of experience in poultry farmingStrong leadership and communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentOpportunities for advancement
