**About the opportunity**:
This role entails delivering a range of outputs to achieve effective and efficient delivery of secretariat services to forums in the Biosecurity and Compliance Group. These forums include but are not limited to, the Australia and New Zealand Biosecurity Cooperation, National Biosecurity Committee, Biosecurity and Compliance Board and its sub-committees, the Science Advisory Group, and the Deputy Secretary Health meeting. These outputs could be service delivery, project management and policy focussed.
**Duties associated with these roles include;**
- Providing meeting support: ensure meetings are effectively organised, develop agendas, coordinate and prepare meeting papers, take minutes, produce communiques and reports, establish and maintain work procedures and keep records
- Help carry out actions and decisions made and checking that agreed actions are carried out
- Keeping stakeholders informed using various communication and engagement processes and products
- Acting as an information and reference point for the Chair and members, clarifying past and present decisions, retrieving relevant documents and confirming policy and legal requirements
- Supporting the appointment of members
- Providing overall administrative guidance
- Produce work requiring little or no revision before finalisation
- Make decisions using good judgement, with direction from senior staff, on tasks/assignments with considerable complexity and sensitivity
- Conduct regular quality assurance of our work area processes and manage identified risks
- Assist in strategic planning, program and project management and/or policy development for our work area
- Implement work plans for the work area including setting tasks and priorities, managing workflow and allocating resources
- Have responsibility for supervising and developing lower classification levels; building team capacity through coaching, performance feedback; and encouraging career development.
