Position Overview
This dynamic role combines production management and product development. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the full manufacturing process—ensuring everything runs smoothly, on time, and within budget—while also contributing to the design and development of new, market-ready souvenir products. From concept to delivery, you’ll ensure that our products are not only beautifully made but also aligned with customer needs and brand vision.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
Oversee the end-to-end production cycle for souvenir product lines. Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, designers, and internal teams to maintain production schedules and quality standards. Implement and uphold quality control standards; conduct regular product inspections. Quickly resolve production issues to avoid delays or budget overruns. Manage product costings to maintain company margins. Manage production budgets and supplier negotiations for cost-efficiency. Track and report production performance metrics (timelines, quality, cost). Ensure compliance with FSC, GRS, health, safety, and environmental regulations. Oversee a small team and manage daily production workflows. Liaise with admin, operations manager on upcoming shipments. Availability to travel to factories domestic and overseas.
Product Development
Research trends and generate new product ideas based on customer feedback and market demand. Collaborate with graphic designers and suppliers to develop new souvenir products. Source materials/components that meet design intent and budget. Manage the sample and prototyping process from concept through approvals. Ensure all packaging meets both protection and freight efficiency requirements. Test products for quality, durability, and consumer appeal. Maintain development timelines and ensure timely product launches. Work closely with sales and marketing teams to align product offerings with overall brand and market strategy.
Skills and Experience
Proven experience in production management and/or product development, ideally within wholesale, manufacturing, or the souvenir/gift industry. Strong organisational, time-management, and project management skills. Creative eye for trends, design detail, and market appeal. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills. Comfortable managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines. Experience working with both offshore and local suppliers/manufacturers. Familiarity with design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) for packaging and product development is a must. Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, especially Excel. Knowledge of packaging, printing, or merchandising processes is a bonus. Mandarin speaking a bonus.
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Product Design, Production Management, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent hands-on experience highly regarded.
