Hours per fortnight
Up to 73.5 hours - flexible options available.
Duties:
- Mange the unit budget, staffing and physical resources with a continuous improvement approach ensuring that priorities are effectively determined and assigned resources managed appropriately. Work closely with other managers and staff within the Governance and Risk group, as part of ensuring a holistic approach to employee and risk management.
- Provide advice and recommendations to the Secretary (as PCBU), Chief Governance and Risk Officer, Executive, Risk and Audit Committee and all levels of management on risk, business continuity, WHS and audit structures and frameworks which is consistent with strategic priorities and legislative and policy requirements.
- Act as the Agency Security Advisor and facilitate the implementation of the Protective Security Policy Framework.
- Build strong and productive relationships with the Executive and senior managers, to support the identification, assessment, prioritisation, treatment, reporting and escalation of risk and safety and to support the integration of risk management into strategic planning to ensure business priorities are properly informed.
- Proactively liaise with external stakeholders such as the Auditor General, the Tasmanian Audit Office to foster a cooperative and professional working relationship and optimise audit coverage, whilst avoiding duplication of effort.
- Represent the interests of the DPAC and participate in internal and external forums where appropriate, including but not limited to risk, audit and WHS matters.
- Provide support, education and training, to build and cultivate risk awareness and improve risk maturity through embedding and continuously improving the Risk Framework and associated policies and procedures.
- Research developments in risk, WHS and audit management and deliver related agency initiatives, or projects.
- Develop and embed the Business Continuity Framework to support the Department to ensure key business activities continue in a disruption and organisational resilience is enhanced.
- Manage the audit process for the internal and external audit program including developing the internal audit program and ensuring appropriate reporting, and monitoring of audit findings.
Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and demonstration of advanced experience in the management of risk.
