Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Educator Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health educator to work closely with individuals, families, schools, and community groups in the East Kimberley region.
This role will involve delivering engaging education and awareness campaigns to reduce tobacco use in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. You will also collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to champion healthy lifestyle choices across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver educational programs for schools, community groups, and individuals to promote smoke-free environments and support quit-smoking strategies
* Collaborate with local healthcare providers, community organizations, and government agencies to integrate health promotion activities into existing services
* Work closely with Indigenous leaders and community members to develop culturally safe and effective health education materials
Requirements:
* A strong commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
* Experience in health promotion, education, or community engagement, preferably in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services or remote settings
* Relevant qualification in health, community services, or education is desirable
