We're investing in more clinics, better systems and smarter, more connected ways to help our customers. As we continue to expand our services and invest in innovation, you'll help create a healthcare system that meets people where they are, responds to what they need and leaves them better than before.

Here, your work has purpose, your voice matters and your future is full of possibility.

Just imagine the impact you could make.

The purpose of this job is.....

As the Automation Quality & Risk Lead, you'll set the standards, controls, and practices that keep automation reliable, safe, and aligned with regulatory and organisational expectations, across Bupa's automation ecosystem.

You'll build quality & risk frameworks, including consistent guardrails, which give our teams confidence in automation changes while protecting customer experience as our automation footprint grows.

This role blends hands‐on testing and validation with strategic ownership. You'll test high‐risk or complex automation changes, uncover defects or control gaps, and ensure solutions are truly ready for release. At the same time, you'll define the quality and risk controls that support sustainable, scalable automation across the organisation.

Collaboration is key. You'll work closely with teams designing, delivering, and operating automation to embed quality and risk thinking throughout the entire lifecycle, from concept to live operation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include

Quality, Risk & Release Governance

* Define and maintain risk‐tiered quality, governance, and release standards for automation across channels
* Embed quality and risk considerations early in design, prioritisation, and deployment planning
* Set clear release readiness, evaluation gates, and rollback expectations for safe, repeatable deployments

Testing Strategy & Enablement

* Establish proportionate, risk‐based testing requirements aligned to automation type, impact, and complexity
* Standardise testing expectations to reduce ad‐hoc manual validation and promote consistent quality checks

Operational Stability & Continuous Improvement

* Partner with delivery and technology teams to ensure solutions are observable, resilient, and scalable in production
* Identify recurring quality or risk issues and drive systemic improvements
* Support the shift toward a run‐and‐change model with built‐in safety mechanisms

Risk, Compliance & Advisory

* Ensure automation initiatives meet regulatory, legal, and internal policy requirements
* Serve as the primary advisor on quality, risk, and emerging AI‐related considerations
* Escalate material risks with clear, evidence‐based recommendations

Cross‐Functional Enablement

* Provide practical guidance and guardrails to product, design, analytics, and platform teams to accelerate safe delivery
* Translate complex risk and quality concepts into actionable direction for technical and non‐technical stakeholders
* Continuously evolve quality and risk practices as automation maturity grows
What you'll need to make it possible
* Tertiary qualification in business, technology, risk, engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Tech savvy, being familiar with CCaaS software and/or Amazon Connect & Sprinklr
* Experience in quality assurance, risk management, governance, or operational assurance in complex digital or service environments.
* Background in regulated industries with strong awareness of compliance, customer trust, and operational risk.
* Solid understanding of digital operations, automation, platform delivery, or technology‐enabled service models.
* Ability to design and implement standards, frameworks, and controls that support fast, safe delivery.
* Proven success collaborating with cross‐functional teams across product, design, analytics, and technology.
* Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex quality and risk concepts for diverse audiences.
* Comfortable working in high‐change, ambiguous, and evolving technology environments.
