Position Information
Belmore Boys' High School specializes in boys' education, focusing on the academic, social and emotional growth of its students. Set in southwestern Sydney, its 640 students and 70 staff form a community that focuses on holistic development. The diverse student population represents 35 languages with 98% from language backgrounds other than English. With a FOI of 142 and ICSEA of 948, school operations are underpinned by leading excellence for equity in the pursuit of exceptional post school outcomes. Specific Selection Criteria
* Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position.
* Demonstrated ability to lead the development and implementation of high‐quality HSIE teaching and learning programs aligned with NESA syllabuses, including effective coordination of assessment and reporting processes to improve student outcomes.
* Proven capacity to lead, inspire and manage a diverse HSIE faculty, building teacher capacity in curriculum development, implementation and evaluation, including the delivery of new syllabuses in a culturally and linguistically diverse boys' school context.
* Demonstrated expertise in building staff capacity to use data‐informed practices and explicit teaching strategies to support literacy development and improve outcomes for EAL/D learners and students from diverse backgrounds.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships with students, staff, families and external providers to support engagement, wellbeing and whole‐school priorities.
General Selection Criteria
* Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
* Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
* Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
* Well‐developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
* Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
