Rural and Remote Housing Incentive Scheme (RRHIS)
Eligible participants include newly appointed or transferring teachers and school leaders starting their tenure at designated state schools. Permission to Teach and department interns (Trade to Teach and Turn to Teaching) are eligible. You are not eligible if you already reside within 50 minutes of an eligible school. The scheme offers initial temporary accommodation paid upfront by the department, followed by a taxable rental allowance aligned with your weekly rent expenses. Department-provided housing is prioritized, but alternative rental solutions are also facilitated.
