Are you an experienced analyst with a strong background in data, modelling and operational systems? We are seeking a proactive Water Systems Planning & Operations Analyst to support a leading organisation in maintaining critical water supply data, models and reporting frameworks across metropolitan and regional networks.
YOU
You are a detail-oriented and analytical professional with experience working across operational systems, data governance and modelling environments. You thrive in fast-paced, operational settings, balancing day-to-day priorities with longer-term analytical work. With strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach, you engage effectively with planners, operators and technical stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, system reliability and operational readiness.
* Proven experience in data analysis, system modelling or operational analytics (within the water industry)
* Strong understanding of data governance, validation and data quality processes
* Experience maintaining and improving databases, models or operational systems
* Ability to analyse complex information and translate it into practical insights
* Experience developing reports, dashboards and decision-support tools
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity
* Ability to manage multiple priorities, including ad hoc and backlog workstreams
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
THE ROLE
In this role, you will support the accuracy and reliability of water supply systems by maintaining demand forecasts, operational models, databases and reporting tools. You will monitor short-term conditions such as weather and heatwave risks, validate system configurations, and improve data quality through ongoing updates and backfilling activities. You will also support the development of reports, dashboards and operational documentation, while working closely with planners, operators and regional teams to ensure alignment between data, models and real-world operations. This role also plays a key part in addressing a backlog of analytical work to improve system confidence, resilience and overall operational effectiveness.
