Your new role As the Mechanical Team Leader, you will be responsible for the effective planning, leadership, and delivery of workshop and field-based mechanical activities. You will lead a team of technicians to ensure equipment is serviced, repaired, and returned to hire-ready condition safely, on time, and within budget. Your key responsibilities will include: Prioritising and allocating workshop jobs in line with service schedules, budgets, and hire requirements Leading, training, supervising, and mentoring workshop employees to maintain high-quality and support team development. Ensuring parts, consumables, tools, and equipment are available to enable efficient job completion Ensuring all workshop activities comply with company policies, procedures, and SHEQ requirements Inspecting equipment upon return and reporting any customer-related damage to enable cost recovery Managing job and labour costs and reporting on service Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Ensuring all required paperwork and system documentation is completed accurately and on time Supporting the Branch Manager with people-related activities, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and development Providing technical support and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders Maintaining a safe, well-organised workshop environment with a high standard of housekeeping Completing mechanical inspections, scheduled servicing, routine maintenance, and repairs in the workshop and on customer sites as required Assisting with stocktake, asset disposals, and general workshop administration Undertaking additional duties aligned with your skills and experience as required What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will be a hands-on mechanical leader who leads from the front, sets clear expectations, and maintains high safety and expertise standards.
