Key responsibilities
Major duties and responsibilities of Fleet Manager:
• Organises and control the operations fleet of Vehicles to transport goods and passengers.
• Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
• Direct activities of staff performing repairs and maintenance to equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
• Analyze expenditures and other financial information in order to develop plans, policies, and budgets for increasing profits and improving services.
• Recommend or authorize capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment or vehicles in order toincrease efficiency and service.
• Prepare management recommendations, such as proposed fee and tariff increases or schedule changes.
• Organising the purchase and maintenance of transport vehicles, equipment.
• Responsible for scheduling transport and delivery times, allocating resources, organising vehicle maintenance and repairs, and developing a relationship with customers, receiving orders and bookings, implementing transporting schedules.
• Ensuring goods are stored and transported in conditions that will maintain their quality.
• Arranging collection and delivery of vehicles and goods.
• Maintaining business records and preparing operational statements and reports.
• Coordinating activities associates with the arrival and departure.
Requirements –
• Diploma with 1 to 3 years full time or equivalent part time previous experience in a similar role.
• Licence to drive medium to heavy vehicles.
• Able to work Independently, as well as with a team.
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Excellent communicator and analytical thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions.
