About the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Inclusion Support Practitioner to join our dynamic team at MacKillop Catholic College in Darwin, Northern Territory. In this full-time position working directly under our Inclusion Support Coordinators, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational needs of our diverse student population, ensuring that all learners have the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.
What you'll be doing
* Collaborating with teachers and the Inclusion Support Coordinators to develop and implement individualised learning plans for students with diverse needs, including those with disabilities, learning difficulties, or behavioural challenges
* Providing direct support and one-on-one assistance to students in the classroom, ensuring they are able to actively participate and engage with the curriculum
* Coordinating with parents, carers, and external support services to ensure a holistic approach to student learning and wellbeing
* Monitoring student progress and adapting support strategies as needed to meet their evolving requirements
* Contributing to the development and implementation of inclusive policies and practices within the school
* Participating in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest pedagogical approaches and inclusive education best practices
What we're looking for
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, special education, or a related field
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of NCCD collection
* Significant experience working as an Inclusion Support Practitioner or in a similar role within a secondary school setting
* Thorough knowledge of inclusive teaching methodologies, behaviour management strategies, and the different learning needs of students
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and external stakeholders
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of students
* A deep passion for supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of all students
