Senior Planning and Development Lead

About the Role:
Main Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice to leaders and Council regarding complex and high profile statutory planning and building applications while identifying impacts on the City's objectives.
* Implement effective policies and plans for the Service Unit to achieve the outcomes sought by the City.
* Manage the successful delivery of strategic projects to achieve the City's commitments.
You will have the chance to work on exciting projects with a fantastic and supportive team. You will be given the opportunity to shape the Service Unit and its operations in alignment with the future vision.
About You:
Main Qualifications
* A university degree in a relevant discipline such as Urban and Regional Planning.
* Significant experience in senior leadership roles within large and complex organisations, with the ability to motivate teams to deliver excellent customer service.
* Advanced communication skills with demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice to leaders and Council on statutory planning and building matters.
* Effective resource management capability including developing business strategy, workforce planning and financial planning and management.
* Demonstrated capability in effective stakeholder management with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders to deliver organisational objectives.
* Proven experience in managing the successful implementation of strategic projects on time and to budget.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about the planning and development of cities. They will have excellent leadership skills, strong communication abilities, and experience in managing complex projects.
