Our network includes over 500 supermarkets, food and convenience stores nationally with around 360 of these operating under the FoodWorks brand. What is the role?
This role is based in Brisbane. The role is responsible for the retail growth of the fresh departments. Given significant demand for extended fresh food ranges, prepared meals and health food products it is essential to have strong operational experience in all fresh departments – particularly delicatessen, produce, and Food to Go, with a "must have" focus on Food Safety.

Have the following required skills:
* Business Analysis and Planning – the ability to interpret and cross reference available data sources to build an objective and analytical approach to business initiatives and performance measures. Demonstrated ability to construct, implement and review a Business Plan to maximize the contribution of resources and performance of the business.
* Communication Skills - Expressing thoughts, feelings and ideas in a clear, succinct and compelling manner in both individual and group situations. Formal Presentations as necessary and facilitation of Fresh Workshops.
* Financial Management– the ability to establish business budgets and deliver outcomes that meet the financial performance criteria of the organisation. Able to interpret and analyse Financial Statements (Profit & Loss, Cash flow and Balance Sheet) with appropriate use of benchmark standards to identify areas for improvement and cost/revenue efficiencies.
* Relationship Development – the ability to build strong, effective and loyal relationships with owner/operators that ensure their performance is aligned to the strategic, commercial and organisational objectives of AUR. Demonstrated ability to create and sustain partnership-based relationships where conflict is addressed proactively, and common objectives are identified and leveraged to deliver mutual benefit.
* Supply Chain– well developed understanding of retail perishable food supply chain economics, the trends, opportunities and risks to enable implementation of business programs at store level that drive improved product/stock management and distribution cost efficiencies.
* Negotiation/Sales - demonstrated ability to sell concepts and solutions at all levels of understanding across the full spectrum of company stakeholders.
* Time Management – the ability to set priorities, plan and organize one's own responsibilities and commitments. Strong capacity and willingness to develop and guide these skills in others.
* Team Leadership– the ability to engage, motivate, influence and direct a team of people to deliver exceptional performance results in a challenging and demanding business environment. The ability to build loyalty and trust within a team.
Qualifications and Experience required:
Preferred Tertiary level – Business, Marketing or relevant Trade Certificate
Knowledge and Experience:
* Minimum 10 years' experience in an industry leading, multi-site retail brand environment within the fresh departments.
* Exposure to Supermarket and Convenience industry channels or wholesaler organisations in the areas of retail operations, buying and merchandising.
* Strong Operational Experience in all Fresh Departments
* Business Planning – Extensive working experience identifying and resolving the key financial and operational drivers of retail business performance.
* Proven track record in leading a team to deliver outcomes.
* Experienced in dealing in an environment requiring and undergoing significant change where the end point of consumer interaction is controlled by an independent store owner.
* Strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with all relevant stakeholders.
