UX Designer

We're looking for a talented Experience Designer to join our growing team. You'll play a key role in designing digital products for clients across government, not-for-profits and private sectors. If you're a team player with a knack for creating well-structured, well crafted, practical designs and you enjoy making UX part of the bigger picture, this could be your next adventure.
What you'll do
* Design meaningful experiences
* Craft engaging end-to-end digital experiences through wireframes, prototypes, and user testing. Your designs will make life easier for the people who use them.
* Create well-crafted interfaces
* Design polished, accessible interfaces that don't just look good, they are well crafted and work seamlessly. You'll collaborate with developers to bring them to life.
* Document design specifications
* Create detailed design specs that describe the interaction patterns and style guidelines, to ensure a seamless handoff to development teams.
* Champion accessibility
* Bring inclusivity to the forefront of your work. You'll design with accessibility in mind, ensuring everything aligns with standards like WCAG.
* Engage with stakeholders
* Work closely with clients and team members, presenting your ideas with clarity and confidence. You'll make sure everyone's on the same page and just as excited as you are.
* Think holistically
* Sometimes, you'll step back to look at the big picture, considering how digital products fit into broader service journeys.
What we're looking for
Experience and skills
* Great foundational design skills across space, typography, colour, hierarchy and composition.
* Ideally 1 to 5 years of professional experience designing digital interfaces, with a strong understanding of user-centered design principles. That said, if you're new to UX and believe you'll thrive in this role, we want to hear from you.
* Proficiency with UX tools including Figma.
* The ability to create interactive prototypes that accurately simulate real-world user interactions.
* Ability to apply UX processes to the design work you do, including user research, wireframing, information architecture and usability testing.
* Experience using AI.

* A team player who loves working with others to solve problems and deliver exceptional results.
* Ability to work effectively within an environment that requires you to learn quickly and contribute to iterative processes.
* A continuous learning mindset, actively seeking to learn and adapt to emerging tools and technologies within the digital design landscape.
Communication excellence
* Clear, thoughtful communication skills, whether you're chatting with clients, presenting concepts, or collaborating with developers.
Portfolio
* A portfolio showcasing your design work, ideally demonstrating your UX process and the impact of your designs.
Bonus points
Data visualisation
* Familiarity with transforming data into visual elements like graphs, maps or dashboards to make it easier to understand, analyse and communicate data-driven information.
Systems thinking
* Ability to see the bigger picture, connecting digital designs with broader service systems and organisational objectives.
Emerging technology
* Interest in leveraging AI and other emerging technologies to fast-track processes and enhance digital experiences.
