Overview
The Corrective Services Academy (the Academy) is an enterprise Registered Training Organisation and is responsible for the identification and delivery of learning and professional development for all Corrective Services staff, including foundation, ongoing work skills, corporate governance and compliance and professional development.
The Academy's Operational Training Branch consists of four sections and is accountable for developing and delivering training in accordance with Corrective Services operational requirements, with a focus on foundation training for front line staff working in custodial and community settings.
The Adult Community Corrections Training Section is a part of the Operational Training Branch, and the Training Officer is responsible for the delivery of Corrective Services Academy training for all Adult Community Corrections staff including delivery of the accredited Correctional Officer Foundation Program (COFP) for new Adult Community Corrections Officers.
The Training Officer informs and provides advice to the Manager Adult Community Corrections Training on emerging issues and trends, and acts as a positive change agent, contributing to continuous improvement in an environment of reform.
