About the role
Forming a crucial part of our BI & Analytics team, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and improving data pipelines and curated datasets within the Microsoft Fabric platform. Reporting to the Business Intelligence & Automation Manager, your core responsibilities will include:
* Designing and maintaining scalable data ingestion pipelines in Microsoft Fabric
* Ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance through validation checks, monitoring, and incident resolution
* Optimising pipelines using incremental loading and performance tuning to meet data freshness and availability SLAs
* Collaborating with BI Analysts and Analytics leadership to translate reporting requirements into fit-for-purpose datasets
* Applying strong governance, documentation, and change control practices across data assets
What you'll bring
The successful Data Engineer will have:
* Strong SQL skills (joins, aggregations, window functions)
* Experience building or supporting data pipelines
* Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling
* Exposure to cloud data platforms or modern analytics stacks
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Understanding of incremental load and performance optimisation techniques
* Experience with Microsoft Fabric (desirable)
* Full working rights in Australia
* 2025 Influenza vaccination (or willingness to obtain)
* National Police Clearance from within the past 6 months (or willingness to obtain)
