Join the Brief Intervention Mental Health Service (BIMHS) at Gosford Hospital, a newly established outpatient service pioneering a ground-breaking hybrid model of care. BIMHS provides timely, targeted support to individuals in mental health crisis, and has already been recognised as a finalist in the 2025 Caring for the Coast Awards (Project category).
This is a unique opportunity to step into a senior Occupational Therapist (Level 3) role where you can combine advanced clinical practice with leadership, mentoring, and service innovation.
About the Role
As a senior member of the team, you will:
- Deliver high-level, evidence-based OT care to individuals experiencing acute mental health challenges.
- Exercise independent clinical judgment to manage complex cases, using advanced reasoning and adaptable approaches.
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to Level 1/2 OTs, students, and early career staff.
- Lead and participate in quality improvement and research projects, contributing to the evolution of this innovative model of care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, families, carers, and community providers to ensure holistic, person-centered support.
This role is based at Gosford Hospital, full-time Monday to Friday (8:30am – 5:00pm).

About You
You are a skilled and passionate Occupational Therapist who thrives in a leadership role and wants to drive meaningful outcomes in mental health care. You will bring:
- A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration.
- High-level generalist and/or specialist OT knowledge with advanced clinical reasoning skills.
- Demonstrated experience supervising and mentoring staff or students.
- Confidence in working independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong commitment to evidence-based, person-centred practice and service excellence.
- A current driver's licence and willingness to travel across the District as needed.
- Compliance with NSW Health employment checks, including National Criminal Record Check, Working with Children Check, and Category A Immunisation.
