Turf Maintenance Worker We are looking for a suitably qualified Turf Maintenance Worker to join the team. You will be responsible for effectively and efficiently undertaking scheduled maintenance and construction activities associated with turf playing surfaces within Council sports fields.

About the Role:As a Turf Maintenance Officer, you will support the maintenance, construction and presentation of Council’s turf playing surfaces and associated assets. The role focuses on safe and efficient operational delivery, high‑quality turf care, and contributing to well‑maintained recreational facilities for the community. In this role you will:Undertake maintenance and construction activities across turf playing surfaces, ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with procedures.

Operate and maintain a range of plant, vehicles and equipment—including tractors, ride‑on mowers, medium rigid vehicles and turf cylinder mowers—to support daily operations. Assist in the preparation, renovation and ongoing maintenance of turf cricket wickets and other sports surfaces. Identify declared, noxious and environmental weeds and carry out weed and vegetation control in accordance with Council policies and legislative requirements.

Safely store, handle, transport and dispose of chemicals, herbicides and hazardous substances in line with safety data sheets and regulatory obligations. Work collaboratively within a team environment, contributing constructively to operational planning and shared decision‑making. What you’ll bring:To be successful in this role, you will have:Sound literacy, communication, and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to use initiative.

Ability to work well within a team environment and to adapt to a changing environment. Understanding and knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety. Certificate II Horticulture and/or 2 years recent experience in turf maintenance.

Medium Rigid Truck \"MR\" Class licence or ability to obtain on commencement of employment

White CardYou will also hold (or be able to obtain) a Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP). A current driver’s licence is desirable.Position details: Full-Time, 76 hours fortnight.Annual salary: $68,103.00 per annum
