As Australia’s newest uranium producer, we’re growing and looking for an experienced Health & Safety (H&S;) Advisor to join our team on a 12‑month maximum term contract.
Based at the Honeymoon mine in South Australia and reporting to the H&S; Superintendent, you’ll provide comprehensive workplace health and safety support for the mine site and coordinate site safety training needs to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
This is a unique mining project requiring you to work across all areas of the operation. As a smaller operation, you’ll have the chance to make your mark by contributing to the development and refinement of site systems and processes and fostering a positive culture.
The role will be FIFO from the Adelaide or Port Augusta, direct to site on an 8:6 roster.
Responsibilities
- Assist with and facilitate incident investigations.
- Prepare reports to meet internal and external requirements.
- Participate in and coach the team in field interactions and observations.
- Maintain site registers, including the online safety reporting and action management system Donesafe.
- Provide back‑to‑back support for the H&S; Superintendent.
- Facilitate and where required, develop site WHS training and competency assessments.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in a similar role on the owner side of mining or mineral processing.
- The ability to build great relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven experience in facilitating risk assessments and incident investigations.
- A thorough understanding of relevant legislation and statutory obligations.
- Experience in developing and conducting safety training and competency assessments.
- A Diploma in Work, Health, and Safety or equivalent.
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116).
