The Y Canberra Region is seeking an experienced Executive Officer & Special Projects professional (Part-time minimum 3 days or Full-time) to work closely with our Chief Executive Officer, Deputy CEO and Senior Leadership Team to drive positive social impact across the Canberra Region.
This is a trusted, high-impact role at the heart of the organisation. You will provide high-level executive support while also leading the delivery of priority, high-profile and time-critical projects that advance our mission, values and 2030 Strategy.
You will play a key role in enabling strong executive decision-making, effective governance and clear, high-quality communication across the organisation and with external stakeholders. Joining a values-led team, you will help improve outcomes for children, young people, families and the broader community.
Key responsibilities
* Champion the mission, vision and values of the Y Canberra Region
* Provide high-level executive support to the CEO, Deputy CEO and Senior Leadership Team
* Coordinate executive workflows, briefings, correspondence, reports and meeting preparation
* Support governance and accountability processes, including Board and strategic reporting
* Lead the planning and delivery of high-profile initiatives and special projects, including major events, awards, grant coordination and communications initiatives
* Support media, stakeholder and executive communications, including during issues and crisis management
* Build strong relationships across the Y network and with external stakeholders
* Contribute to continuous improvement of executive, reporting and communication systems
About you
You are a highly organised, adaptable and values-driven professional who thrives in fast-paced executive environments. You bring sound judgement, discretion and a calm, solutions-focused approach, particularly when managing competing priorities or sensitive matters.
You will demonstrate:
* Proven experience providing executive-level support in a complex organisation
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
* Strong ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under pressure
* High levels of judgement, discretion and confidentiality
* Experience coordinating projects, events or initiatives with high visibility
* A community-focused, values-led approach aligned with the mission of the Y
* Confidence working with data, reports, briefs and executive papers
A tertiary qualification in business or a related field (or equivalent professional experience) is desirable.
